On the occasion of May 1st, Labour Day, trade unions celebrate, so that the historical and political values of the anniversary are not forgotten.
The event begins at 3 pm in Piazza Municipale, which will see the award ceremony for two classes from the province who participated in the "Schoolmates, World Companions" competition.
The concert of the school student bands will follow.
The groups showed great enthusiasm and participation.
Eight bands will take turns on stage this year: Liquid Shades, Sheska, Kozmic Floor, Scapadizz, Duck Straw, Maniax N'90, Backwater, Defiants' Cage.
"We're pleased with the youth's desire to participate," explains CISL Ferrara General Secretary Paolo Baiamonte. "We remember that May Day is an event steeped in history and meaning; it is the milestone, the starting point, of the demand that more than any other represented the fundamental right to worker dignity: the eight-hour workday, and with its celebration, the memory of the Chicago martyrs of May 1, 1886.
Freedom, democracy and solidarity are the ideals we want to pass on to new generations."
